OBJECTIVES AND ACTIVITIES
Swimming
Swimming is a core activity offered through the charitable trusts. Annually, we welcome millions of individuals into our pools to have fun and improve both their mental and physical health.
We manage Everyone Active’s swimming pools nationwide and all aquatic activities that take place in them. We’ve been awarded for our swimming lesson delivery and work closely with our aquatic clubs to provide development opportunities for swimmers.
Our core objective is to increase participation and remove any barriers that may prevent people from swimming.
Sports and Recreation
The charitable trusts are also responsible for managing Everyone Active’s sports halls, squash courts, outdoor pitches, and children’s activity areas.
From walking football to children’s holiday camps, wheelchair basketball to line dancing, the charitable trusts connect people of all ages and abilities to fun, accessible and inclusive activities.
We work with partners to provide a range of community-focused initiatives, delivering activity within the communities that we reside. We develop programmes to inspire and engage inactive groups with local sports and activity programmes.
Community Health and Wellbeing
Our services have always been provided for the health and wellbeing of communities, and for the less advantaged groups within those communities. Together, we strive to support our communities to live healthy and happy lives.
Our strategy outlines how we will support the delivery of the Sport England objectives, United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, NHS long term plan, Office of Health Improvement and Disparities and UKactive’s vision for a decade of change, to address inequalities in healthy life expectancy across
our communities.
ABOUT
The charitable trusts play a vital role in offering facilities and making physical activity accessible to everyone.
They are a subsidiary of Sports and Leisure Management Ltd, established in 1987 and has since become one of England’s largest leisure contractors, operating under the brand Everyone Active. It currently manages hundreds of leisure and cultural facilities nationwide.
The charitable trusts deliver subsidised services, community-focused exercise programmes and outreach schemes to communities across the country through Everyone Active’s facilities.
The trusts protect key sports and recreational services from the pressures of profitability and ensures communities benefit from affordable, accessible activity.
To help us achieve this mission, we manage hundreds of leisure and cultural centres across the UK in partnership with, or as agent of, many different local authorities.
EVERYONE ACTIVE GROUP
The trusts are a subsidiary of Sports and Leisure Management Ltd. Through this structure we deliver commercially successful services while protecting community-focused activities from the pressures of profitability. This leaves us free to provide added value and gives more people the opportunity to get active.
SLM Community Leisure Charitable Trust & Everyone Active Charitable Trust operate alongside the Everyone Active Group.
Everyone Active Acting As Agent For Councils and Local Authorities
What is An Agent
An “Agent” is a person (or organisation) that acts on behalf of another, known as the “Principal”. In the context of local government, local authorities will appoint an agent to act on their behalf to deliver specific services to the public. The agent will then act as the intermediary between the local authority and you, the customer, when delivering those specific services.
Everyone Active and Your Local Council
We work closely with councils and local authorities to provide fitness and activity services to the community. When you book a membership or class through Everyone Active acting as agent, you’re actually entering into an agreement with your local council. Therefore, your membership or class terms and conditions are with your local council. The agent (Everyone Active) acts as the facilitator between you and the Council. We manage the day-to-day operations of the facilities and services for the Council so that they can provide you with the best possible service.
