OBJECTIVES AND ACTIVITIES
Swimming
Swimming is a core activity offered through SLM Community Leisure Charitable Trust. Every year we support millions of people to improve both their mental and physical health through our in-pool activities.
We manage Everyone Active’s swimming pools across the country and all aquatic activities that take place in them. We have earned a fantastic reputation for delivering high-quality swimming lessons and work closely with aquatic clubs to provide development opportunities for children as young as three-months-old all the way through to elite swimmers.
Our core objectives are to increase participation and remove any barriers that prevent people from swimming.
Sports and Recreation
SLM Community Charitable Trust is also responsible for managing Everyone Active’s sports halls, squash courts and outdoor pitches, as well as the relationships with the hundreds of clubs and groups who use these spaces.
From walking football to children’s holiday camps, and wheelchair basketball to line dancing, SLM Community Charitable Trust connects people of all ages and abilities to fun, accessible and inclusive activities.
We work with industry partners to secure funding for a range of community-focused initiatives. These programmes help us to engage inactive groups with innovative sports and exercise programmes.
Community Health and Wellbeing
Our services have always been provided for the health and wellbeing of communities,
and for the less advantaged groups within those communities. Together, we will support our communities to live healthy and happy lives.
Our strategy outlines how we will support the delivery of the Sport England objectives, United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, NHS long term plan, Office of Health Improvement and Disparities and UKactive’s vision for a decade of change, to address inequalities in healthy life expectancy across
our communities.

Embracing the Sunflower - Helping those with Hidden Disabilities
In an effort to make its facilities more accessible to more people, Everyone Active has joined the global Hidden Disabilities Sunflower network.
The Sunflower allows people to voluntarily share that they have a disability or condition that may not be immediately obvious.
To indicate that they have a hidden disability, customers or staff members can wear a Sunflower lanyard. For customers wearing the lanyard this will inform Everyone Active staff that they may need additional support at the leisure centre or a little more time.
