Work began today (Monday, October 20) on an exciting £400,000 refurbishment and extension of the gym at Enderby Leisure and Golf Centre.
The centre is run by award-winning operator Everyone Active in partnership with Blaby District Council, with both funding the three-month project.
The gym is being extended into the existing group cycling studio and storage rooms, with the group cycling studio moving downstairs and being upgraded.
This means that the state-of-the-art gym will feature no fewer than 160 stations, which will include 25 new pieces of Life Fitness equipment.
Six new lifting platforms will be added, as well as a new lighter lifting zone and an extended recovery zone with new Theraguns.
The gym, which will benefit from a new look and feel, will remain open throughout the vast majority of project except for a temporary closure on Friday, December 12, with general disruption to customers set to be minimal.
James Naylor, Everyone Active’s area contract manager, said: "This gym extension and the arrival of state-of-the-art equipment is great news for the local community.
“These upgrades reflect current fitness trends and will enable our customers to target the areas of fitness that matter to them most, while improving their health and well-being.
"Whether you are an experienced gym user or a complete beginner, our gym has everything you need to achieve a fantastic workout and meet your fitness goals.”
