Waterlane Leisure Centre’s gym has benefitted from exciting upgrades after a £420,000 project was completed.

The Lowestoft centre, run by award-winning operator Everyone Active, now includes a raft of new equipment thanks to the sizeable investment from East Suffolk Council.

Featuring state-of-the-art Pulse Fitness kit, the gym now has 145 stations across its two floors.

Aside from the arrival of popular cardiovascular and resistance machines such as rowers, steppers, leg press and lat pulldown machines, a new sled track has been added, as well as a stretch area.

With the vast majority of equipment replaced, members can enjoy an enhanced workout experience.

Stuart Jardine, Everyone Active’s area contract manager, said: “The amazing upgrades in the gym are brilliant news for the physical and mental health of the local community.

“People of all ages will benefit from the state-of-the-art equipment. Using these machines will enable our members to target the areas of fitness that matter to them most, while improving their health and wellbeing.

“Whether you are an experienced gym user or a complete beginner, our gym has everything you need to achieve a fantastic workout and meet your fitness goals.”

Cllr Sarah Whitelock, East Suffolk Council's cabinet member for Communities, Leisure and Tourism, said: “This investment is part of our ongoing commitment to providing quality facilities to support healthy and active communities.

“We’ve overseen a programme of improvements to our leisure centres, including in Lowestoft, where Everyone Active has made a series of upgrades funded as part of investment which started with its extension and refurbishment in 2011.

“The new equipment should make a real difference for existing members and anyone hoping to pursue a more active lifestyle.”

Waterlane Leisure Centre has enjoyed multiple improvements of late, with Air-X arriving recently.

Air-X is a large, inflatable obstacle course designed for families, kids and adrenaline seekers of all ages. For more information, click here
