Everyone Active is now managing Rushmoor Borough’s leisure and sporting facilities as part of a new partnership between the award-winning operator and Rushmoor Borough Council.
The new 15-year contract, which began on Wednesday 1 April, sees Everyone Active act as an agent for Rushmoor Borough Council, managing Aldershot Pools and Fitness Centre, Alpine Snowsport Aldershot, and three tennis courts in Aldershot and Farnborough.
The partnership will ensure leisure services are inclusive, high-quality and financially sustainable, with a strong focus on community engagement and innovation.
As well as operating the existing council leisure facilities, Everyone Active will play a key role in shaping the final internal design and fit-out of the new Farnborough Leisure Centre and will manage the site upon its completion in late 2027.
Future plans, to coincide with the launch of the new leisure centre, include a state-of-the-art gym refurbishment at Aldershot Pools and Fitness Centre, and a new splash pad area at the Lido.
In the meantime, Everyone Active will aim to enhance the profile of Aldershot Lido through the introduction of events such as a monthly outdoor cinema and an ice-skating rink, which will run throughout the festive period.
Demonstrating its commitment to supporting local athletes, Everyone Active will offer opportunities to join its Sporting Champions programme, providing a range of resources to help individuals reach their full potential, alongside free access to leisure facilities.
Additionally, a Community Champions programme will be launched the following year, celebrating the individuals and projects that bring local communities together.
Everyone Active will continue to honour concession memberships, offered to those who work for the emergency services, those who serve in the armed forces, full-time carers and many more.
Karl Miles, Area Contract Manager at Everyone Active, said: “We are delighted to officially begin our partnership with Rushmoor Borough Council and are looking forward to many successful years ahead.
“The fantastic centres within this contract are so important for health and wellbeing in local communities and, with plenty of exciting developments in the pipeline, we are incredibly privileged to be chosen to manage them.
“The new contract includes a significant investment, amplifying our drive and ambition to prioritise the health and wellbeing of the local community. We look forward to supporting the council’s vision for leisure across Rushmoor, helping as many people as possible to get active.”
The new Farnborough Leisure Centre will include a 25-metre swimming pool, as well as a 10-metre learner pool with a moveable floor. There will also be a 100+ fitness station gym, two studio spaces, a spin studio, soft play and a café.
