Work has begun on an exciting £2million refurbishment at Pingles Leisure Centre in Nuneaton this week.

The site, run by award-winning operator Everyone Active in partnership with Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council, is undergoing a project scheduled to be completed by January 2026.

It is being funded by a joint investment from Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council and Everyone Active.

When complete, Pingles Leisure Centre will feature an extended and enhanced gym, new group cycling studio and new water features. The main group exercise studio is being relocated downstairs and will have a new look and feel.

The gym is set for a huge expansion, from 80 stations to 130 stations, and will feature state-of-the-art Life Fitness equipment to help people of all ages achieve their perfect workout.

There will be a brand-new water confidence paddling pool with interactive features, while the outdoor pool will be refurbished and will include new features.

In addition, front of house and the café will be remodelled, while work started on Monday on refurbishing the ground floor changing village, which remains open at reduced capacity.

Everyone Active’s area contract manager, Lloyd Barraclough, said: “We are so excited this project is under way and it is great news for the whole community.

“We cannot wait to welcome everyone once works are complete and show them the state-of-the-art facilities on their doorstep.

“No matter what your age, interests or ability, there will be something for you at Pingles Leisure Centre.”

Cllr Brady Hughes, Portfolio Holder for Leisure and Health, said: “These refurbishment works mark an exciting chapter for Pingles Leisure Centre. Expanding the gym and introducing state-of-the-art equipment will give residents greater opportunity to stay active and healthy.

“The new water confidence paddling pool and remodelled café will make the centre even more welcoming for families and people of all ages, helping us to build not only a healthier, but more connected community.”
