Work has begun on a state-of-the-art Reformer studio at Daventry Leisure Centre today (Monday, May 18).

The purpose-built studio at the centre, run by award-winning operator Everyone Active on behalf of West Northamptonshire Council, will feature 20 Reformer machines.

The project will replace the existing soft play and will take three weeks to complete. Additional Reformer studios are also being launched at Lings Forum Leisure Centre and Moulton Leisure Centre next month.

Reformer is performed on a specialist machine with adjustable resistance and a moving platform, providing a versatile workout that can be tailored for individual fitness levels.

Popular for its ability to strengthen the core, improve flexibility and assist with rehabilitation, the exercise is suitable for people of all ages and abilities.

Reformer is part of Everyone Active’s commitment to provide innovative fitness offerings for local communities and will form part of an extensive group exercise programme at centres in West Northamptonshire.

Simon Fearn, Everyone Active’s regional contract manager, said: "We’re excited to bring Reformer to local leisure centres and to make this versatile workout accessible to people across communities.

“Reformer truly is for everyone, whether you’re just starting your fitness journey, looking to enhance your routine, or recovering from an injury.

“The adaptability of the Reformer machines ensures sessions can be as gentle or challenging as needed, making it an ideal option for people of all ages and fitness levels."

Cllr Mark Arnull, Leader of WNC, said: “We’re delighted to see work underway on these new studios which form part of a wider programme of significant development and improvement across our leisure centres.

“By introducing innovative and inclusive fitness options like this, we are ensuring residents of all ages and abilities have access to modern, high-quality facilities close to home.

“This initiative supports our ambition to promote active lifestyles across West Northamptonshire, helping people improve their physical and mental wellbeing in a welcoming and supportive environment.”
